Who can volunteer with the program?

We welcome educators, scientists, technology professionals, gardeners, aviation and drone enthusiasts, college students, community members, and other volunteers who can share relevant knowledge with students. Teaching experience is helpful but is not required for every opportunity.

Do I need teaching experience?

No. Some opportunities involve helping design curriculum or teach alongside classroom staff, while others focus on mentoring, demonstrations, technical support, or sharing professional experience. We will help match your experience with an appropriate role.

How much time do I need to commit?

The time commitment depends on the opportunity. Some volunteers may visit for a single classroom session, while others may support a project or course over several weeks. We will discuss the schedule with you before confirming your participation.

What happens after I sign up?

After you sign in and submit the opportunity signup form, the TSP team will review your information and contact you about availability, classroom needs, required preparation, and next steps. Submitting a form does not automatically confirm a placement.

Do I need to create an account before signing up?

Yes. Please use the account icon in the website header to sign in or create an account with email, Google, or Facebook before selecting an opportunity and completing its signup form.

Are screening or background checks required?

Requirements depend on the activity, school policies, and the amount of contact with students. The TSP team will explain any required screening, forms, orientation, or preparation before a volunteer placement is confirmed.
